One of the most popular and free entry iconic land mark in downtown Chicago. Located in Millennium park, designed by the British artist Anish Kapoor, this sculpture and attracts millions of visitors every year.
Construction of the Cloud Gate began in 2004 and is made up of 168 stainless steel plates, welded together and polished to a mirror finish. It measures 33 feet high, 42 feet wide, and 66 feet long, and weighs a whopping 110 tons.
The sculpture’s reflective surface distorts the surrounding skyline and creates a kaleidoscopic effect that is a favorite of photographers and visitors alike. My kid, every time we visit, has lot of fun playing with polished surface making funny faces. Do not forget to walk right under the sculpture and look up. I have seen kids lying down under it and enjoy the view. It’s very interactive and engaging nature.
Millennium Park where Bean is a 25 acre vibrant public space that offers something for everyone. Whether you’re interested in art, music, nature, or just want to relax in the heart of the city, Millennium Park is definitely worth a visit.
Designed by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, the Crown Fountain is an interactive art installation that features two 50-foot towers made of glass blocks that project digital video images of Chicago residents’ faces.
Water flows from the mouths of the faces on the towers and into a shallow reflecting pool below. The reflecting pool is a popular spot for kids to splash around and cool off in the summer months. Prepare to get a splash it’s fun

A 2.5-acre garden featuring over 240 different species of plants, the Lurie Garden was designed to reflect the Midwest landscape before the arrival of European settlers. It connects to near by Chicago Art Institute for art lovers
For rest of the world, proceed to towards the over bridge crossing the pavilion and for beautiful street view and for kids heaven with ice skating ring (seasonal) and the children’s play area Maggie Daley Park
From Daley Park there is a nice path leading to Navy Pier for a good walk or rent e bikes from stand to Navy Pier for a beautiful view and hang out. It will be a day well spent.
