The distance between Bangalore and Jog Falls is approximately 400 kilometers. We started early in the morning and took about 8 hours with some leisurely drive through Chitradurga, Davangere, Hirekerur and with this detour, we still were thinking that we manage to reach Gokarna by evening

If someone decide to take the fun of having a train ride, the nearest railway station to Jog Falls is Talaguppa, which is approximately 20 kilometers away. There are several trains that run between Bangalore and Talaguppa. You can take a train from Bangalore to Talaguppa and then take a taxi to Jog Falls.

The best time to visit Jog Falls is during the monsoon season, from July to September, when the waterfalls are in full flow. However, if you want to avoid the crowds, you can visit during the post-monsoon season, from October to February.

Jog Falls is not just about the waterfall. There are several other things to do in and around Jog Falls, such as:

There are several accommodation options near Jog Falls, ranging from budget to luxury.

On the way, saw this Saravathi suspension bridge and took a walk on it for beautiful views and surprised to see folks riding bikes on it. I am not sure whether is it allowed or not. There were some tuck shops selling omelets and snack along with piping hot tea which was a nice way to enjoy the weather and location.
