Our final destination from London, nestled on the rugged cliffs of Cornwall’s coast, Tintagel is a place where myth and history intertwine. This enchanting destination, steeped in Celtic culture, beckoned with its ancient ruins, stunning landscapes, and timeless legends. Stepping into Tintagel was mixed with emotions, the characters we studied in school and college books, the feeling you walk through the courtyards it’s something need to be felt in person.
Inviting charming village of Cornwall
The narrow roads and ancient streets are lined with charming cottages and art galleries. The coastal path invited us to take leisurely walks, offering panoramic views that will left us in awe of nature’s grandeur.
Exploring Tintagel Castle: A Mythical Haven
At the heart of Tintagel lies its most iconic landmark, Tintagel Castle. Perched on a dramatic cliff-edge, this legendary fortress is believed to be the birthplace of King Arthur. As we wandered through its ancient walls, we felt a connection to the past and be transported to a realm of knights, chivalry, and magical quests.

Beyond the castle’s storied walls, Tintagel rewarded us with awe-inspiring natural beauty. We explored the caves by walking down a bit. But be careful about the tides as it can come up very quick and we did not spent much time in the cave.

After walking a bit we reached a point where there was a nice peninsula with awesome views of ocean and cliffs. The rugged cliffs, adorned with vibrant greenery, stand proudly against the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. The coastal path invites you to take leisurely walks, offering panoramic views that will leave you in awe of nature’s grandeur. Marvel at the striking rock formations and secluded coves, and let the sounds of the ocean soothe your soul.
The Old Charm
Nestled within the village, you’ll find the charming Old Post Office, a historic gem that takes you back in time. This beautifully preserved Tudor building, dating back to the 14th century, offers a glimpse into the daily life of centuries past.

It is treasure cove for Celtic jewelries, local wines, art and craft items which I filled up my bag with. I loved every bit of it.
